How to Stay Cute and Active in a Brisbane Winter

How to Stay Cute and Active in a Brisbane Winter

Winter in Brisbane is basically a soft launch of real cold weather. It’s chilly in the mornings, sure, but by 10am the sun’s out and you’re peeling off layers on your morning walk. And while it’s tempting to hit snooze and stay buried in the doona, this is actually one of the best times of year to move your body and layer up in a way that still feels cute.

Here’s how we’re keeping things fashionable, functional, and budget-friendly this season.

Layer like you care but not too much
This is the season of the throw-on-and-go. Our tip? Start with a good base layer that moves with you, like the EV Foundation Long Sleeve or the EV Jem Top. Add a bomber, hoodie, or a zip-up like the EV Corset Jacket if you want a little structure with your style. Morning chill is real but layering keeps you warm without the bulk. And once the sun comes out, you can tie it around your waist and call it an outfit.

Find a walk that feels like therapy
There’s something about winter walks that hit different. The air’s crisp, the light’s soft, and your headphones somehow sound better. If you’re in Brisbane, start your morning with a loop around Kangaroo Point Cliffs. It’s free, it’s scenic, and the stair sections will have your glutes waking up real quick.

Other faves? South Bank river path, Mt Coot-tha’s Summit Track, or a walk-and-talk loop around New Farm Park with your bestie or furry friend. Bonus points if you grab a takeaway coffee from a local spot!

Add movement tools that don’t cost a fortune
You don’t need a gym membership to feel strong. The Yoga Ring and Resistance Bands Set from our Ella Vari accessories range are two of our fave winter workout companions. You can use them at home, at the park, or in between episodes of your latest binge. We also have tonnes of new bags to choose from to keep things cute and functional.

They’re low-cost, easy to travel with, and surprisingly effective for toning, stretching, and activating muscles that are a little sleepy from hibernation mode.

If you’re feeling stuck or bored, pop on a 10-minute YouTube workout or do a few rounds with the bands while your dinner’s in the oven. It all counts!

Fuel your energy, don’t fight the slump
Winter can be cozy but also kind of draining. If you’re feeling slower in the mornings, you’re not alone. Our go-to? A scoop of Evolve Nutrition's Performance Greens in a glass of cold water or smoothie. It gives that gentle push without the crash, plus it's packed with the kind of things you probably meant to eat all week but didn’t.

If you're lifting, training, or doing higher intensity workouts, the Lipo Whey Protein gives a clean kick without the weird aftertaste or the 3pm regrets. Think fuel, not frenzy.

Dress for your mood, not the weather report
Some mornings are for matching sets and slick ponytails. Others are for oversized crews, sunglasses, and pretending you're an off-duty Pilates instructor. The best way to stay consistent with movement in winter is to make it feel like something you want to do, not something you should do. And yes, sometimes that starts with a cute outfit.

Movement doesn’t need to be extreme to be effective. This winter, we’re keeping it simple, layering with intention, and choosing accessories that support us without breaking the budget. Whether you're walking the cliffs at Kangaroo Point, stretching at home, or just chasing the sun between errands, there’s a way to feel good in your body without sacrificing style.
